Hidden fees :(

Something that I have noticed which is very annoying is when a hidden cost springs up on you out of the blue. Throughout my senior year I have been taking a few classes at MATC since they are paid for by the school. When I first heard that the school would pay for me to get college credits I was like “Alright!” One thing that I didn’t take into account was to how much the books and materials cost. Yesterday was the first day of my second semester class. The teacher told us that we would be required to buy books and an external hard drive for this course so that we could complete the reading and assignments at home. I thought to myself books can’t cost that much; however, after I googled what book we needed I found out that it would cost $130.00 just for the paperback. I still am in shock that a book which isn’t even an inch thick can cost over $100.00. This is happening more and more whether it is a jacked up shipping fee for online shopping or some part you have to buy to fix something which when you bought it costs less than the part.

Caucasia

When first starting Caucasia I was bored with it because all it did was talk about two girls who liked to gossip and do their hair. As I read farther into the story I actually began to want to read more mostly because I have questions which I would like to see answered.
I have a few of questions about this book, for instance what did the mother do and what were the meetings about? Mostly likely these two questions are related. Right now I get the feeling that the mother was in on a plot to kill some politician. The reasons that I think this is because in the beginning of the book I remember Birdie walking in on the room of men with the guns in the bag. This was an awkward scene and I think the reason that the author put this in the story was to come back to it later. Another question I have is why did Shelia and Jesse do the same thing that Jane had done after hearing how she got caught by the feds. I want to know why the settled down in a small community. After the mother tells Birdie how Jane got caught why did they do the same thing, to me this seems kind of stupid.
After Birdie and her mother moved into the cottage house I started to notice how curious the landlords were being. At one point they basically interrogate Jesse asking her about her family in upstate New York and what her grandparents did.
